would that make it HONDA RC23?
I'm not sure but you could sell me the 23's exhaust then.

I want some stainless headers too but I'm being a cheap skate and trying to find some second hand ones.

right im almost fighting fit again so im going to put some hours in on the cbr this weekend.

hopeing to get the bulk of it stripped and look at the carbs mainly. Ive got a couple of questions though,

1. are there any filter upgrades (Pipercross/ green) for the nc23?
2. are there any intake mods, Ive got a feeling mine is missing a couple of bits but il post picks tomorrow or at the weekend.

3. What are my choices with a 18inch rear tyre? im struggling to find anything?

heres a link to what I meant by the air box problem.

Ive been playing with the cbr again today and have stripped the exhaust system for a good clean, and also stripped the carbs.

thought id crack on with the project for a couple of hours in the shed as theres sod all else to do in this glorious british weather.

I made abit of headway and got the exhaust system off:

although is fairly new it was still in abit of a state after it had beendropped in a muddy field.

After a quick degrease and clean it came up okay:

then to attack it with some Autosol and its coming up nice:

I also managed to get the carbs off as the bike wasnt really running right. (High idle and sticky throttle).
As I didnt have any parafin to hand I used the next best thing, Unleaded.
Stripped all the rubber parts off and gave it a good soak to get all the crap out of the springs etc.
I bet you've never seen petrol this colour before:

but after a clean they are starting to come up alright, Im just trying to find out what would be the best jets to run with the exhaust system before I put it all back together again.

I need to start degreasing the engine aswell, wasnt looking too pretty under those carbs:

so the plan for tomorrow, weather permitting is to get the bike out of the shed and start stripping the brakes and possibly the forks if I get time.

RE: tyres, I had a pair put on my NC23 earlier this year and choice was limited...

I went to my local Honda bike dealer who had more choice than most places and I had to choose between the Bridgestone BT090 and the Dunlop Alpha GRP10.

Went for the bridgestones and they are very good. :D

I thought id carry on with the bike today and I think im finally at a point where I can start ordering parts and rebuilding it.

first thing on the agenda today was to get the forks off:
Image

Im still amazed that ive not come across one siezed bolt or rounded off head yet.........

I then took the forks apart because im getting some racetech springs to suit my weight (Unfortunatley im not the size of a jap racer)

Image

So ive just given up for the day and the bike is happily sat on a paddock stand and some axle stands.

Image

Im off now to order some parts and hopefully start putting it all back together bit by bit.
