This depends on how you ride the bike, the kyoto ones are utter turd, I brought a set a few years ago after a friend recommended them, you can get a set for the NC24 for around 12.00, they lasted just over a month of summer riding.

I then realised he liked them as he rides very mellow and never uses the brakes agressivly.

The goldfren pads have better reviews on the internet.

In all honesty, for both the 30 and the 24 your best of sticking with the Honda OE pads, quite a few people on here will attest that they are one of the best pads for feel and longevity.

The OE 24 pads are 8.00 each from DSS, thats 32.00 + vat for a set of front pads that will last twice as long and perform much better than those other pads.

ps.. old nc24 bike is not something to ride with no money, if you plan to keep it, the bikes eat money like a fat kid eating cake.

doing everything on the cheap just to get by is ok for a time until it comes back and bites you in the ass.. you start putting cheap substandard parts on the bike until it is all substandard and it no longer rides any good >.<

I had to save up a bit for my fork seals for my ZXR.. the OEM ones were 10.00 each! the copy ones were 10.00 a set.. but for the extra 10.00 it lasts a lot longer and saves doing job twice...

same with these brakes.. get a decent oe set up front, screw the back one you shouldnt be using it much if at all.. if you go for cheap option youll have to replace them in no time at all and they wont feel as good as a proper set either..

if you have to live on 40.00 a week why do you have 3 bikes.. sell the nc24 it costs too much to run

I have been applying for jobs here there and everywhere but not got anywhere, ive had someone professionally write my C.V (for free) to help but still nothing. Problem is that 1 day my shoulder is fine, next i cant move it and end up on tramadol.

As for owning 3 bikes, i dont, i have half a ER5 which im selling but no one seems to want to buy, i couldnt sell it as a whole as someone fucked the front forks by super gluing a snapped bolt which wrote the forks off :( (i had been riding around for nealy half a year with that like that), I have the wheels and forks off a NC21 which im tring to sell. (if your refering to the 3 bikes on my profile, they show the bikes i have owned)

Im not half arse doing this bike up. I have yet to spend less than decent on the bike, im a mechanic after all, i know what its like to do a half arsed job. I was just wondering if they were any good after i had read a few reviews on the parts.

Now i will save up and buy disc and pads all round as the brakes do ahve a reasonable ammount left on them, its just i wanted to change them for peice of mind while im doing the tappets and putting the NC24 carbs on instad of the weird unknown NC21 carbs i have on there at the moment.

id take gavin's offer up on the brake pads sounds like a great deal,

no disrespect richard ill assume the £40 a week you get is JSA's there are millions of people doing the same thing right now THAT fuck me right off claiming JSA and not activly seeking a job, if i was out of work for more than a week id be taking a job at MCD's just to fill the time and pocket, until somthing better came up,

you are happy to work on and ride a bike with a fucked shoulder but wont work a job with one, just get ot with it man, its an arm whack it in a sling and work, there are people in wheel chairs, prothetic limbs and arms that are working. and fucking damn hard. we all have our health issues but i dont let mine stop me with 2 sliped discs which occasionally put me on pain killer but i just get on with it.

just bite the bullet of pride and do someting with you life instead of moaning about being skint.

im skint, i have 3 kids, a wife and a mortgage, animals, and hondas eating my cash, but i just get one with it, i wish i had £40 a week spare to spend on myself (£160 a month i dont spend that on the VFR each month), you live at home with your parents and have it easy, you dont understand how easy you have it right now.

no hard feelings.

im not having a go rich, its just that you never seem happy, and always seem to moan about life and things within it, life is what you make it, and yes having a bike is great way of making you and others happy, your young and have no worries in terms of paying bills etc, you live at home with the parents.

get a small part time job, explain your health issues if its such a concern go earn some pennies and get that bike tip top dude,

youve allready got a really nice paint job,

I used Kyoto front and rear in my 600 diversion, and rear in my 955i Daytona. The front on the Divvy was fine, that's a big heavy bike using a single caliper. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, decent pads which work in all weathers and plenty cheap enough. May not last as long as the leading brand but I'd rather replace £10 a pair pads every year than >£100 a side front discs.

I don't recommend EBC HH since I had a pair fall apart (literally) years ago. They also eat discs at an alarming rate.

No experience of Vesrah or Goldfren.
