The last pad is off a rav-4... notorious for rear brake squeal... due to the fact the pads come without a chamfer, and will sooner or later return due to a build of of brake dust.
So we use to grind a chamfer in before fitting... problem solved.

Oh we could quite easily, but you do brakes so often, it becomes less of a novelty.
And also sooner or later someone will find out your doing the dodgy, then you can say goodbye to your customer base.

Dont be afraid of taking off 'too much'. Make sure your chamfer's are somewhere in the 45 degree area.
You'll be fine, oh and don't stress to much about the dust from the filing.... as there shouldn't be any asbestos in the pads. Unless they're incredibly old.
