Old thread, but relevant info - I just pulled my 1989 NC30 rotor and it looks juts like that.. so I think maybe it was standard on K models

Interesting idea.
Got the book out.
1989 (K) model
31110-MR8-003 Flywheel (Hitachi)
Later models.
31110-MR8-781 Flywheel (Nippon Denso)
Seems it isn't an NC24 part but looks identical to the NC24 flywheel.
