Looks good Mike - particularly the measurements whcih will be handy!

p.s. what sort of cdi's are you using?[/quote]

The RVF HRC CDI. We also have some Ignitec CDIs we are testing with. Will let you know shortly how we get on with them.

Thought that may have been the case.

You would need to bridge the yellow/blue wire in your diagram (which is orange/blue in my rvf loom) to a 12v source to get around the limp home mode if you're not using an hrc cdi.

Something for others to consider if not running the hrc cdi.

Cammo,
I'm currently stripping my wiring harness down, and like the simplicity of the HRC harness. Can you let me know which blue and yellow wires need to be bridged, and is that all that's required to be done if not using the HRC CDi? Also, does the 2.2ohm resistor still need to be inserted once the speedo is removed (I couldn't see anything on Norman's diagram)? Thanks for your help.

The yellow/blue wire on Mike's diagram is an orange/blue wire in my rvf loom and also according to the haynes wiring diagram.

Just run an extra wire from a +ve source (battery or ignition on etc) to this wire (don't cut the orange/blue wire). You don't need to install a resistor anywhere on the rvf loom (you do on the nc30 loom). This will get around the 180 km/h speed restriction and the cut in spark to 2 cylinders when you remove the speedo. The hrc cdi does these changes to the wiring inside the unit.

Hope that helps.

Ronin,

I dunno if it helps but here is a schematic I made for myself when I was modding my OEM harness. I kept the Start and Charge circuits but ditched the Ignition switch (the battery has a quick connect). I also kept 1 x 15A and 1 x 10A fuses plus the Neutral start but you could do away with these. The schematic doesn't show the Shift light or additional grounding I added.

Sorry about the poor image quality - this is based on a very small file posted by another member, input from many others on the forum.

PM me your email if you want a copy.

Cammo, thanks for that. The diagram I had (got it off here somewhere) shows a resister.

JB, cheers, I'll be using your diagram for my bike. Thanks heaps
