thanks for the help guys. everything is working fine now.
only one slight issue which is not a big problem but i rather get rid off. the brakes pads are slightly squeaky when they press against the discs. but not consistently. only sometimes. is it normal for new brake pads?

I had a squeeky front brake on my scooter and it turned out to be a tiny stone embedded in the pad, i think it got there after i used a screwdriver to open teh pads up. might be worth a look?niteblade wrote:thanks for the help guys. everything is working fine now.

The squealing is usually vibration and rubbing of the 2 metal surfaces.

Or try hosing them down with water...
When ever I get a squeak on a car that comes into work, the first thing to do is wash down the brakes with pressurised water.
It's generally caused because of a build up of brake dust on the trailing edge of the pads which is easily washed away. While your there, check the chamfer (spelling?) of the pads, as pads without a chamfer (spelling.... again) will return with a squeak very soon.
