RVF400 brake issues

thanks for the help guys. everything is working fine now.

only one slight issue which is not a big problem but i rather get rid off. the brakes pads are slightly squeaky when they press against the discs. but not consistently. only sometimes. is it normal for new brake pads?

I had a squeeky front brake on my scooter and it turned out to be a tiny stone embedded in the pad, i think it got there after i used a screwdriver to open teh pads up. might be worth a look? :peace:

Did you use a bit of copper grease on the back of the pads when you put them in? This usually gets rid of the squealing.

The squealing is usually vibration and rubbing of the 2 metal surfaces.

Or try hosing them down with water...
When ever I get a squeak on a car that comes into work, the first thing to do is wash down the brakes with pressurised water.
It's generally caused because of a build up of brake dust on the trailing edge of the pads which is easily washed away. While your there, check the chamfer (spelling?) of the pads, as pads without a chamfer (spelling.... again) will return with a squeak very soon.
