Re: Project track dog! Getting less doggy!
Another update, ive bought a TSR half system off a forum member as the other system i had fitted did not improve the power of the bike and also purchased a generator kit from Rick Oliver. Cant wait for it to be delivered so i can get cracking and fit everything.
Also had an uprated shock delivered which was swiftley sent to Reactive suspension to be refreshed ready for the 2011 season.
Thanks James

Re: Project track dog! Getting less doggy!
A package arrived today from Rick Oliver.

The generator kit is really really nice and cant wait to fit it but i have a problem, i cant get the original flywheel off
Has anyone else struggled to remove theirs? Can anyone give me any pointers please.
Ive undone the securing bolt easy enough but its so tight on the crank that ive already snapped a puller trying

Are you trying to screw it off with the puller? If you try nipping it up, then giving it a whack with a rubber/hide/copper mallet, that should be enough to get it started

Thankyou for the reply.
Ive nipped up the puller outer then wound in the center to the point where its seriously tight and no tapping with a mallot etc is shifting it. Doing the walking away and giving it 5 minutes technique at the mo

I think that it's just being awkward as it'll most likely never have been off in the last 20 years, my CG was a total pest to do, it took making a wooden cover for the centre bolt and smacking it with a sledge hammer in the end to get it to pop off

Re: Project track dog! Getting less doggy!
Things have finally started to get moving this week and fiinally got round to fittng the GSXR generator etc as well as buying and fitting a set of SES adjustable footrests.

And also picked up my shock that ive been waiting to have rebuilt/setup for me. No one seems to know what make the shock is, Has anyone on here any ideas?

Really going to have to get cracking and get this bike done as the first meeting is the start of March!
Thanks James

Thanks Kris
Just been on the blower to my painter mate and he has been doing my panels over the weekend and has also picked up my decals so should be back together this week.

Re: Project track dog! Getting less doggy!
Went to the dyno on thursday and the bike is pushing 63bhp which i dont think is too bad to say all it has is a half system and a lighter generator.
Also bought some SP1 calipers and brackets (thanks Geoff) to uprate the brakes.
Fingers crossed i will posts up some finished pics shortly and also im at Cadwell on Saturday to see if all this work has paid off.
