[where would you fit stainless ones ?

Depends on your taste and budget but I would go for Probolt stainless on various places but the wheels and brake areas are a good place to start, caliper mounting points, pad pins and covers, even the nipples. for the wheels I would go for wheel and sprocket nuts, rear chain adjusters and pinch bolts. Depending on your thoughts on putting stainless on the discs you could add rotor bolts. There are few other places such as tank, engine, various clamps, heel plates and even the airvent guides.

My thoughts on stainless may no be to everyones taste but I go with the theory of it doesnt matter how nice the bike looks a rusty nut aint a tasty nut and the casual observer will almost certainly point it out, even if the bike looks as nice as yours but if you add stainless they will not realize why it is so clean but will admire it more.. Also dont fade over time they will stop shiny, very low maintanance.

I hope you dont think I was being negative to your very nice bike, just wanted to add something to the very nice bit..

Have now changed the sprocket nuts for gold ones , chain adjuster bolts for stainless jobs and new sparkies from pro bolt as well ( they're a fair bit shorter than originals so I'm gonna have to lean a bit more :-) ) but still plenty of time and more to do before better weather gets here !

How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? Did he fit the decals and laquer over them?

New (second hand ) shock fitted courtesy of GF , makes a whole lot of difference to the look of the bike as the spring is yellow to match the paint , also been overhauled and set up too take my slim 14st frame



Was a little fiddly to fit as I had to notch out the rocker as advised to get clearance on the adjuster but once out gave me a chance to clean and polish everything



And to finish it off I mounted the reservoir to the exhaust bracket using a 45mm stainless rubber lined p clip so the bike looks nice n tidy , I pulled the rear brake pipe free from its clamp on the subframe , bent the clamp forward slightly and tucked the reservoir pipe up behind it then gently bent the brake pipe clamp back trapping the reservoir pipe in place in the gap behind it , it has lots of room to move now but cant drop out and no pinching the pipe to hold it either




I will take some proper pics of all the shiny new bits when the sun comes out

Where did you buy the 45mm stainless rubber lined p clip from as the ones i can find on the internet are £6.28 inc p&p

A company called Westfield fasteners , the clip was £1.73 + vat , but if you can't make carriage paid they will hit you for £3.50 p&p
