Like i said the Nc29 has barrel cast as part of the engine case were as on the 23 you can remove the barrel from the casing. The two are very different.

if your trying to identify/distinguish the engines from a picture then the only differences you will see are the NC23 engines have finned/ribbed engine cases where as the NC29 engine cases are smooth

I'm on my Iphone atm so can't go through all the hassle to copy the link etc but If I pick it up later I will upload pictures.

I am 95% sure I know what I am looking for.

I picked it up this evening and everything worked out well. I paid £220 for a working NC29 engine with Carbies, Loom, coils and cdi, Airbox, New battery, new oil filter and radiator.

Quite happy really with it. Next week I will be cleaning it all up and looking at what work will need doing to it.
