Re: Pic request.
The square light was Swiss, but Honda did a twin light conversion kit for owners wishing to move away from Switzerland.
The Swiss imported 521 RCs, more than anyone else worldwide, apart from France, [ Japan sold 1000 bikes].
Dave. Not many people know that.

Ah, cheers. I'm familiar with the Japanese RC30's but I've never seen a Swiss one. The fairing does look like it was based on the MC16, or perhaps that's just me...

Re: Pic request.
after looking at japanese home market RC30's compared to the UK spec bikes, i am going to go against the flow and stick my nob on the block and say - i actually prefer the larger headlamps (did i just say that)
Not because they look better, far from it, they are just more in proportion on the front of a RC30. i think the japanese bikes (nc30 headlamps) are too low and small for the large frontal area of the RC30 and its just not fitting with that era IMO.
i appreciate i am alone in this thought and as you are all tutting and shaking your heads i will take myself off to a dark corner and beat myself for what i have just admitted too on a public forum.
regards

Re: Pic request.
I agree with you Paul, but for me the front of the UK RC30 is all I ever saw in magazines, posters it's the iconic bike! I never knew that Jap versions had small headlights until a few years ago! And they just dont look right!! The RC30 needs big headlights and big white mirrors!!
Having said I think the front of the RC45 is bloody awful! So ugly!!
Sorry!!

Agree with the Swiss RC30's...not sure about the exact number sold in Swiss, but it was a massive market for them. The square headlight unit is indeed for the Swiss approval back those days. And fitted with the small round nc30 headlights, were only sold upon in Japan. Also restricted in engine power. The bigger round light..yeah that makes it the real deal look of the RC30 to me. Lush!
