That is indeed the fan-switch, it is missing :)
Unfortuantly I don't think an NC30 fan will fit.

TA.. they dont' get half as hot as an NC30.. I wouldn't bother with the manual switch, just get a fan installed and leave it to the thermostat. You shouldn't have any real problems.
