1. With the T14 sprocket - this increases acceleration, does it affect top speed? And where do you get them from?
You can get them from Rick Oliver or B&C Express. I've just come back from a ride with 14t sprocket for the first time and it is a must!!!! Acceleration is unreal. It affects the top speed a bit but how often do you bomb around at over 110mph? It's definitely worth doing. If you don't like it, you've only lost a tenner

Running the 14T front sprocket gives a very noticeable increase in acceleration.

Well worth doing imo.

I'm looking forward to putting mine back on the road with some tasteful upgrades its been off for 17 months  .

Just got to finish paying for my wedding then i can make a start.

Front discs aside, it isnt worth spending the money on rebuilding the standard front brakes (calipers & m/c) - ive been down this road & yes, a well set up set of standard nc30 calipers with good fluid & pads, are great but nothing touches the power of a well set up, set of SP1 brakes.

If you're standard brakes are better, somethings not right with you're new set up.

I spent more money rebuilding my standard brakes to "as new" condition than it cost to buy a "nearly new" SP1 set up, with new EBC HH pads & new braided lines.

My SP1 set up is monsterous & i would never go back - its my best modification by far!

There are lots of threads on here regarding the nissin SP1, SP2, FIREBLADE 929 & CBR600RR upgrades & APRILIA / DUCATI brembo upgrades - check them out & make your own choice.

Please bare in mind, the brakes are 1 of the most important parts of ANY bike, so you need to do it right - dont do cheap, you'll end up doing it twice - if you survive!

@ force-v4
I've just upgarded to fireblade calipers and tried them out for the first time today. The stopping power is immense. I'm still running a std m/c but have read it's not the proper. What m/c are you running?
Thanks

Braided front brake lines are a worthwhile addition I reckon.

Improve power to weight ratio and looks for free by removing the exhaust heat shield, pillion footrests and brackets and luggage hooks.

Force-V4 you have now 100% convinced me to ditch the standard brakes and get some SP1 nissin calipers.

So for this upgrade on an NC30 i'd need some SP1 calipers, NC30 Mounts, Brake Lines and SP1 MC.

I already have goodridge braided hoses fitted to my standard brake system would they fit the new SP1 setup?

Banofee good shout footpegs and heatshield already gone.

NC30 hoses are too short if you want to use the SP1 setup with both front brake lines coming from the m/c to the 2 calipers. If you already have NC30 hoses and don't want to splash out for a new set, you can set them up so that one hose goes down to the right caliper and the other line connecting the two calipers together. It works for me :)
