I am on the fence with all of this. I am currently building an NC30 as a track bike, but I might just want to keep the loom standard just in case I want to put it on the road someday. I am not racing it, so it doesn't need to be as light as possible. Man, decisions, decisions!
But thanks for the diagram! That may come in handy!!

I would take the main ignition feeds to the relay (30 & 87) and splice the relay coil + (86) into the load side (the side that is not permanently live) of the KS, and the relay - (85) straight to earth.
This way, the KS is powering the coil to operate the relay.
As an added precaution, I would fit a 3A fuse between terminal 86 and the KS, also a 30A fuse between terminal 30 and the ignition feed.
just been in the workshop with the plan on finishing this tonight. but the solder i bought on sunday for a £1 was WANK. so that will have to wait until new solder arrives.
just thought id update this post. if you were to wire the relay this way it wouldnt work,
firstly - the kill switch is normally closed (NC) (in the run/on position)so you would need to short that to live 12v+ so that it would run. to trick the CDi into thinking the kill switch was on RUN.
Secondly - with the main ignition being on 30 & 87 when the power is off there is no power fed to the kill switch for you to turn on or off. so it simply would operate the coil.
so the only way around this is to make the kill switch with a perm feed but consequently meaning the starter switch would also remain perminantly live. but the ignition would be dead until you switched the kill back to run.
you with me Thunderace?
any other ideas?
