I think you have a major short in there somewhere. Time to start chasing wiring.

Turns out the neutral sensor was playing up a bit, hence the reason why i wasn't getting a green light on the dash.
As for the main fuse / starter relay/solenoid, the bike has been sent away for a new one of those and a new Reg as that i'm sure is the reason why it melted and the battery wasn't charging.
I go and collect it tonight, fingers crossed :)

Problem fixed, replaced that unit and sealed it from the elements and all is fine now :)

The front cables are live, the back cables are earth.
That is the starter-solenoid.
It's worrying that it has melted, I haven't seen that in a while.
Your starter solenoid could well have melted (thats the little cannister thing that engages the starter when you clikc the button)
Do you have life on the dashboard (i.e lights?)
You can remove the reg-reg and the bike will still work.
But if you remove that 4 pin connector from the solenoid the bike will die.

Has it got the right size fuse fitted?? Seems bizarre it got so toasty without popping the fuse??
