75v seems too much at 5000rpm.

It should be 50v, all three phases (wires) shuld have the same output too.

resistance should be between 0.1 - 1.0ohm
But nothing on the output generator?
what do you mean by that..?

Generators easy enough to remove... a few 8mm bolts for the case and then an m20 x 1.5 bolt to remove the flywheel.

visually inspect it first, they often look toasted.

Im surprised Mark hasn't posted his famous fried genny pic yet... :)

I found an NC30 STATOR for a good price.
Can I use this on my NC24 - any differences

The model on Electrex World - G72 fits both NC30 and NC24, so just wondering if I could use a second hand one from an NC30 ok

The NC24 had two types...

The 'G72' part is the later model.. the earlier ones had a smaller one on there.. it is about 10mm shorter.. you need to measure your existing one.

I think from RH2 onwards was G72 type.

Just got to start job.
First to visually inspect Stator.

Removed stator cover but couldn't get nut off as it looks different to the one in the guide - http://www.bikersoracle.com/vfr/forum/s ... p?t=102117

No where to put screwdriver in while loosening 14mm nut

Do I need a special tool for this?

A heads up, You have to register to see those pics... not everone will be able to see them.

I think you've got confused by his pictures.

In the guide.. that Brass nut is the Peugeot Sump plug the guy has brought.

You undo the 14mm nut (i think its 14 from memory) and remove it and the washer... then you screw that sump plug (or any M20x1.5 bolt) into the hole that is covered up by the 14mm bolt and washer and it pops the rotor off.

I've not seen a flywheel that looks like that before though.. are those pictures yours or somebody elses?

Just checked Ebay and found a Flywheel Rotor the same as mine - it is an NC30 unit.
Must have been changed at some stage - just need to work out how to remove so I can inspect the stator

put the bike in 6th gear, get someone to hold the back brakes and get a bloody large breaker bar and remove that bolt...

Did you sort this out? im not up to speed with the NC but is everyone sure that 50V at 5000rpm is a deffo as on a suzi 75V would be good and im sure yam say the same. Its usually stated as over a certain voltage so i'd have taken it that the reg/rec was bad.
