David Silver quoted me £400 per shocker for the genuine part for my NC31. Convert to monoshock I think

I have a K reg superfour and found my shocks leaking. Got onto bike revival (Google it) and they have supplied a budget set for £69.99 inc del. Although im sure these will not be a match for the originals, i may get the originals re built as they will not look as good and mine are pretty clean.
As for CX500 shocks, the hole centres are the same at 325mm, but as the Cx is shaft drive there may be an issue with fitting them as different bushings may be required.

I actually pilfered the shocks off of an Katana. Still made by SHOWA, but they are adjustable with a dial. Kinda nice, still got lots of kms left. I was looking into rebuilding my old forks, but found these. It'd be interesting to see how much it cost you to rebuild em.

I've got hagon shocks with nasty silver covers over them...but they really are shocking.
me needs something decent like nitron or summat-but oh, the cost! the bike only cost 900...
