Never bothered with high build primer, i usually mix primer 50/50 with thinners but if i have any imperfections i wanna fill i'll go for 60/40.

I dont use high build primer, just normal primer and adjust the mix to suit.

It`s not necessary to use high build primer,I usually get reactions,just prime the panels with that grey plastic primer from halfords,wet and dry them with 2000,give them a good clean,paint the pannels,and laquer them after 5 minutes after you applied the top coat,it usually looks good wet on wet,do not rub down the paint because it`s no point,after everything it`s dry,rub down the laquer with 2000(again use a lot of water) until you see the fairing it`s matt,and give it a good polish with some polishing compund with the mop,and it looks bloody shiny and brilliant.

Where do you get 2000 grit from as i can only find places selling 1200 grit

I had to buy the higher grade wet and dry from eBay. Something which is really helpful I found was getting wet and dry which had a silicone backing on the paper making it waterproof. It stops the paper falling to bits when you're rubbing it down. Similar to this:

Get the sanding paper from ebay ,halfords,or a body shop.Really cheap
