I was thinking more along the lines of a kitted RC30 motor if the fitting modifications are confined to the NC chassis and not the engine.
The early VFR750 engine is similar to the RC externally, but not sure of exhaust routes, and air box space/size can be a problem, but running without, or an ITG dome filter works.

The VFR750 motor is the sensible one regarding cost, availability and high mileage use.

seeing that back on the bay a few months ago signed and sealed what my project this winter will be; to fit an VFR750 engine into my NC35.
Can't really remember much from the ebay advert (I really should have printed it out!!), what model engine was it. I have FR-FV scribbled on the wall in front of me, but I believe any pre 93 lump will fit.
Has the front under slung engine mounts on the frame been cut&welded, what is the configuration of radiators at the front,,,, still nc30??!
Have you taken any pics of it with all the fairing taken off? I bet she's a beaut underneath!

Or can I just call you 835 ? . It's an FR-FV engine ,I do not know the exact year , but they are the same , or so I was told , it's the last of the carb 750's and it has a fuel pump . Here are a few pictures I took when I got the bike of how the engine fits. It runs 2 standard rads ( NC30 I think ? ) and an small oil cooler as well . There is no problem with the temp , it does not get hot.

Does it run std NC30 exhausts too then? Cool that this was done, but it is not a bolt on is it! the right hand engine mounts look a bit intense..

Hi, would love to do something like this, tho i should be getting cbr400 soon to hybrid up, anyway is a VFR750 a much bigger bike once all the crap is stripped off it? i've never sat on one, or seen one parked next to and nc30, just think it would be easier to maker an VFR750 lighter than do this? but since when do we do anything the easy way?

Well certainly looks like the front mounts have been changed, but not a worrying amount of work. I
had heard some naysayers of this conversion say that the engine would be too tall and wide to fit the NC30/35 frame. Have you had the tank off to look to see if the inside frame rails have been modified? How does the bottom of the tank and top of the air box go together, are they standard, do they fit?
At least it doesn't look like you'd need to take the engine out to do the clearances!

i think you need to do the decent thing, and remove all bodywork and get lots of detailed pics under the skin even some measurements.
this is a mod i for sure would be interested in doing. best of both worlds IMO
