Looks similar but a battery is a battery. lol

The terminal cables had poor connections to the crimps so i have remade them both with decent lugs, the negative grounds to the frame on the RHS of the bike and the ground terminal on the battery is on the LHS of the bike if that helps. Both cables were shortened and fit just fine ?

I don't think the live cable is long enough to reach from the battery to the starter solenoid if they were the other way round.

Hmm, I can't visualise that..

The main earth of the bike is connected to the frame just below the Right hand side rear engine mount (when sitting on the bike) via an 8mm bolt.

The Positive Terminal of the battery is on the right Right hand side too.. right next to the bracket that holds the battery in :)

The earth runs from the right of the bike upto the left side of the battery :)

As long as it fits though :)

Make sure you wear eye protection and have a box of baking soda open and waiting incase you spill acid on yourself.
Its also best if you get a hydrometer because acid from an autoshop is usually a bit too concentrated. The concentration you need depends on your climate.

Halfords sell this battery:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_246903

Codes are YB9-B (509 014 008)

Will this fit the NC24?

No, the polairty is wrong,, (+ and -ve are backwards) and it's too expensive.

The proper Varta one from Tanya is cheaper including deliver (better battery too).

Oh ok, I get discount at halfords so it makes things a lot cheaper but if its not going to fit then there is no point lol.

If it fits and you can get it for a good price then all you need to do is lengthen yours leads so that the +ve goes to the starter solenoid and the -ve to chassis.

Probably be more expensive than getting the proper battery.

You'll need to replace the earth and the +ve cable from the solenoid.

You can buy proper earth cables and +ve relay cables off the shelf but there going to be about 12gbp for the two in the lengths you need.
