The screw driver is to access the adjuster screws on the underside of the carbs. Since the bike has to be running your carbs and tank have to be in place. So with the bike running and the tank on, you need the screw driver to access the screws through a very small gap and adjust them on the underside of the carbs. I would say its nigh on impossible with a standard screw driver.

I bought my screwdriver from carbune themselves the people who supply carbtunes. Morgan i think they where called.
I know your probably in a rush to get your carbs sync'ed, but i will be selling my screwdriver and carbtune with adapters at a later date.

Get yourself a Haynes manual for stuff like this, made easy!

Yayoboy.... this is good advice, i would not have been able to sync my carbs with out the help of a haynes manual. Hanyes manual would be the first thing i would buy for ANY bike.

already had a haynes manual folks, and it was the first thing i bought

but i feel its always best to ask see if any one has a better way. regardless, i did it 2day, plus drilled the sliders, set the float levels and adjusted the pilot screws to 2 1/4 turns, and it ticks over sweet now :D !!! will be writing up a guide soon if any1 is interested and its quite simple without the need for vac guages etc.
