Re: NC30 lower radiators
Thank you Rick for your contribution.
I assume from the preceding posts that it is acceptable to post the price on this forum.
The price for this NC30 lower radiator is GBP 170.00.
We charge freight at cost depending upon the exchange rate at the time of order. At today's exchange rate the cost to freight one radiator to the UK is GBP 29.00. We use a very reliable freight service with online tracking.
Yes the radiator has fan mounts. The design of these is slightly different to the original radiator. It uses captive nuts which slide over the fan mounting brackets. Such a system is common on many Japanese motorcycles.
I understand the questions raised about whether we are a reliable supplier. We specialise in a Lotus model called the Elan and have been making parts for the Elan for nearly a decade. We export those parts worldwide. There is a forum, similar to this, called Lotus Elan Central on which you can ask questions about our reliability should you wish to do so.
In addition to that we can accept payment by Paypal which offers buyer protection though most customers choose not to do so as it increases the cost to them.
My motivation in this was simply that I wanted a replacement radiator that was just right for my NC30. The consequence of that was that I had to initiate and fund the design and development of a new production item. It would have been much cheaper and easier to buy another bike but I love my NC30 so that is what I did.
We will continue to make these radiators for as long as demand justifies production.

Re: NC30 lower radiators
I did not answer some earlier questions:
"The tanks look smaller than oem - how much fluid do these rads hold? Is there scope for larger tanks, double cores etc? Can the inlets/outlets location and number be amended?"
The core of these radiators has 7% more area than the stock radiator because the height of the core is 12mm greater than the stock rad. The depth of this radiator, front to back, is exactly the same as the stock rad. In terms of performance these radiators perform like a new stock radiator.
The greater height of the core allows the fan, or more specifically the fan shroud, to be better positioned on the radiator core.
We considered various ideas such as revised coolant flow patterns but my judgement was that what most people would want was something that was close to stock in terms of design. We have no plans to make variants.
There is no significant difference in terms of coolant system volume with this radiator and a stock NC30 radiator.
There are other small specification changes that were made to keep the cost of production low. As one example the lower radiator fixing point utilises a rubber bush and associated top hat spacer. The bush and spacer are genuine Honda parts and they are supplied with the radiator.

Re: NC30 lower radiators
Thanks for the answers! I imagine that I will avail myself of one of these rather than another recore on my spare rads. As the despatch is a long way away, would it be worth us getting a batched delivery to save on freight charges?

Despatch is not a long way away. The first ones will be despatched tomorrow.
Experience has taught me to stick with the system we use for freight as opposed to a batched delivery. With the system we use it is a traceable process from door to door. We have never had anything go missing and the goods always end up with the right recipient.

Sure, I meant in distance rather than in time
NO worries, it is a good price and looks like a decent product!

Re: NC30 lower radiators
AB, thank you for your dedication to these bikes. Some of the long-time guys here will attest that my group of guys here in the USA are also very passionate aboute the NCs. So, we feel your enthusiasm. Welcome to the 400 Greybike Forum.
We are building very high output NCs for racing in the US. Our current radiators, as well as some aftermarket rads we have been using, are just not up to the task of rejecting the heat our engines are producing. Is it possible to get something custom through you if we supply the drawings?

Hi Mike.
I have looked at your website. Some very impressive stuff on there.
I think what you are asking may be possible but we will need to discuss this at a level of detail that is better dealt with offline.
I will send you a message after this post.
