Here is a picture that I posted last night in the gallery section....it shows some custom made (jap aftermarket) adaptors to fit 40mm pitch Brembo billet GP calipers. Adaptors from Brembo themselfs are also not cheap. I believe best value for money is to get the nissin calipers.

What are the differences in spec between the RVF black nissin calipers and the gold SP1 calipers?

They look the same to me.

Any one know what bike the silver calipers come from?

The SP1 type are a newer design than the rvf calipers, 'probably' more efficient. Both use the same brake pad design. They look quite different when sat next to each other.

Plus the gold colour looks sweet! :peace:

I am told that there is a slight difference in the piston diameter sizes in between the RVF ones and later spec'd Fireblade ones. Not sure what exact dimensions are, but maybe someone can take some measurements?

Also, standard there is also a different in use of the mastercylinder...on RVF maybe a 14mm whereas on Fireblade maybe a 15 or even a 16mm version...not sure about this though.

Definitely more efficient, probably heavier though. IMO you're best bet for an upgrade is swapping the RVF callipers and master cylinder for SP2. The SP2 m/c is a little less aggressive than the SP1, it was upgraded to give a better feel and you will notice the difference on the lighter bike. VTR1000F Firestorm/Super Hawk rotors are a direct replacement also. This is the set up I use on my street RVF, the track bike has the same with Goldstar rotors.

I Think you can get ISR Callipers for Jap4performance but im not sure how good they are but they are alot cheeper than Brembo callipers.
