Stripes will tell you plenty about the main shaft bearing giving up on the 76a. I run 73a and bandit that dont seem to have the problem.

73a and 76a run the same bearings but its normally sp's or bikes that have been sat or outside for a long period that eat bearings. The sp model with the tall first gear puts so much stress on the bearing its unbeliveable. If you have got a non sp try pulling away in 3rd or 4th thats what an sp box is like in 1st.

O rings arrived from Chris. so strip the carbs and replace them

Image

so after reading one of the sticky threads about o rings from tony sleep printed of what was what i
started on the first carb

Image

on taking out the jet holder there is a large o ring combiation on the bottom of it, this was not in the oring packets
from Chris or been mentioned any where else  so does this need replacing in the scheme of things, if so it will be done another day as i have put them back together now.

some the rings where brittle and split so a good job i had the carbs apart ;)

Image

so all being well and good shall refit the carbs next week sometime as its bank holiday weekend and the
boss has got plans for the rest of the weekend, which iam sure doesnt involve bikes

Cheers for the pics,
I will look into it as the size i supply is from a set of o'rings supplied to me by Suzuki, i know Tony used some imperial sizes to give a snugger and these were bigger. I think i will order another one from Suzi to double check the size altho the 73A has the same part no. and one as big as in the picture would never fit.

Well back from the IOM TT and fitted the carbs today, after some f ing and blinding they went on,
After a few cranks she spluttered into life for the first time in 5 years

she seems go up the rev range fine, but when releasing the throttle she stops at 2500 for 10 sec then slowly settles down to 1000 any ideas on this guys, all the o rings where replaced and screws set to 1.5 turns carbs havent been balanced yet, just after some imput to try for the next time i have a play with her :o

cheers Badger
