That's not works looking - that's a full works bike.

The way the frame's made and the swing arm .... it's not a 400 that's pimped. look at the rounded section of the brace ... it's made as one rather than a bar thats welded on after.
It's much more a scaled OW01 than a 400 .... the 3en1 takes it's styling from the OW01 and probably this bike

Apologies for the dodgy link in the OP, was working fine for me - now fixed.

Yep, it's the full house works 400. I'll try and dig some specs up, but I imagine it would be mega power and much lighter than you could ever hope to get a production 400 to be.

EC: That yam 2-stroke paint scheme has got to one of my fave paintjobs ever. I've drooled over it for years!

Yup - lovely scheme ... maybe the black triangle on the fairing could line with a forward line of a speedblock but it might not work in the physical dimensions.

Notice how the bodywork doesn't fit arround the back of the tank so it could have been in the parts bin from a OW01 or a YZF750 racebike

I found some more pics of this bike last night when trawling through someones 75 page long blog (in Japanese) looking for NC30 TT-F3 pics to no avail. I'll post them up tomorrow morning.

This is an 1986 bike as apposed to the 1989 bike above. Looks like Yamaha realised a lot earlier than Kawasaki that hoover tube air intakes look poo!
