Re: NC30 TRACK DAY TYRES
If I'm honest I prefer the GPR70s. Doubt if you'd get any now though but I just felt confident in corners on GPR70s where I feel slightly less confident on Alphas.Stickshift wrote:Off topic, but Mick how do the Alphas feel compared to the gpr70's?mick.mh2racing wrote:It comes down to personal preference, I prefer Dunlop meself. Always loved the GPR70s and like the Alphas.
Everyone will have differing opinions.
I was in love with the 70's right up until they discontinued them.
Yet to try Alphas as I get a good deal on 090's.
How hard can it be?

Re: NC30 TRACK DAY TYRES
I've used 090's in the past and they were great - loads of grip
Recently (last set of tyres) I've been using Dunlop 209 GP's and they are fantastic - heat up quickly and give loads of grip.
I have now just aquired a set of Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa's
I haven't fitted them yet but they feel soft to the touch! so I'm guessing will be good - if its good enough for the guys in BSB, its good enough for me!!

Yeah only heard great things about Supercorsa Pros, but too pricey for me.

I managed to pick up a set of part worn race scrubs for £40 - still loads of life left in them - well enough for me to use them for a while anyway

For the Track I recommend a BT-014 rear (150/60/18) and a BT-016 up front,Dodgy Roj wrote:all good but need an 18" rear ! ran super corsa on my ex naill mckenzie r1 but no 18" rears as i know?

Website specs of all tyres...
if your budget doesn't stretch to the BT-014/bt016
the BT90 is available as a matched pair (front / rear) and can be had slightly chaeper (again in the same size)
Just noticed the only people who seem to stock the BT014 in the 150 size are

BT090's or Dunlop alpha 10's both come in 18".Dodgy Roj wrote:all good but need an 18" rear ! ran super corsa on my ex naill mckenzie r1 but no 18" rears as i know?

Re: NC30 TRACK DAY TYRES
Iv used 090's on track and throught they were good but on each track day Id have 3 or 4 out of seat big slides and highside moments (even while using warmers)
then started using scrubbed sdiablo supercorssa's and their the law now, so planted and took 3 trackdays and a race meeting to get them to spin up, and road them on the road all summer until they were bald centre and right side, not bad for £50 a go
