why do u replace the clutch cable when you could just tighten it?

I believe it must be stretched good sir, without comparing it to a new one I have no way of telling though, but Its a risk Im willing to take *puts on aviators*

can't you just release the cable from whatever secures it, wind both of those tightener things in, then resecure the cable with no slack?
Thats what I do on my mountain bike when the cable stretches :D

I think it has securing eylets at each end so Im not sure you can, I have ordered a new pattern cable anyway for £10.55 including postage so its not a big deal really :D

I'd be shocked if it was stretched enough not to even pull the clutch in. Guess you'll see when the new one arrives!

it pulls it in and I can ride it fine its just it doesnt come in the lever is really far up, (I can catch my glove on it sometimes because its so far out and it makes me look like a total fool!, I figured the shorter the cable the lower the lever would be for the clutch to engage

is your lever bent? the cable and clutch doesn't know what the lever is doing. You might need a smaller lever if I read your post right?

I realised that post didnt really make much sense, I just want the clutch to engage earlier the lever size is fine

Ok now im confused :D

The biting point of the clutch should be when the lever is pulled in quite a bit, you want it to bite earlier?
