Lope - Thanks for that matey. To say i'm an engineer i'm thick as shit sometimes when it comes to bikes. I normally pay someone else to do it for me or have a new bike that needs nothing doing to it  But i suppose you have to start somewhere when its your first track bike

Carbs have just been stripped, cleaned and balanced so i know they are fine. I spoke to my mechanic friend today and he said that there is possibility that i could have flooded the engine through transporting the bike on my trailer and that constant starting with the choke on will have definately flooded it. He advised that i shut the choke off, have full throttle and try to start it. He said it may take a few goes but this should clear it. If not then bumping it off is the next best option. If it doesn't start after this then i will check the spark plugs, i have spares and i will be wearing my wife marrigolds to test the spark. Then i will check the battery for its voltage output. If it still doesn't start after that then i am stumped and it will back to you guys for advice.

Need to make at least one track day this year at caddy park so fingers crossed

bikes can be very unfamiliar things, but its amazing when u decide to do what you can, and learn things, how much more familiar you become.

i won't buy another 20 year old bike again until i'm at the point where i have my own garage, skills and time to strip the bike apart completely and work everything over. and then, the cost of sorting all the things that will need attention will bring the cost up to the range of a newer bike... so I really dunno what to think at the moment about buying old, semi old, semi new, or almost new :) generally newer bikes should need less parts refurbished and spares cost a klot more individually than as parts of a 2nd hand bike.

Lope - I have the same dilema mate.

I'v got a 2007
Image

and bought a non working 1992 NC30 for the track because i had one when i was 19 and i loved the look of them. Not sure how i will feel riding it and it is already draining money like nobody's business. I'm going to see how i like track days then i'll update to a newer 600 probably 05 or 06 CBR. Like you i havenlt got the space, time or money to build a perlar of a NC30, but hats of to the guys on here who have. They make me sooooooooo jealous :Ass:

CMSMJ1 - Here you go mate :Ass: :pmsl:

looks like i had the same trouble as yours. The plugs were cold and damp from the petrol so letting the petrol evaporate from the rear cylinders and heating the plugs did the trick.

I live in Lincoln so its only a 30 min drive for me. Going on a novice day either this week comming or next week, can't remember which :?: Then i'll be doing an evening session on the 25th.

This will be my first track day so i will be posting a new thread on advice on what to do, what not to do and what i need to take.

Cheers again fellor
