I think its made by the same company and that the black one is never with some upgrades, if you look at the chrome and black system you will see that at the joints they use by the look of it the same length sleeve to connect the sections of the system and the bends and lengths look the same to me and join at the same places just the spring connection is different.
With the black one being the new system they changed the spring connections to wire instead of little plates, that would be my guess as I haven't seen any other system that you join with sleeves as long as these two systems. The cans look similar in the design to

well done g man, iv taken the system off for a big polish up and it looks amost identical cept they dont all join up, they stay spereated as a twin system.

even the can strap, stainless front collets and mild steel rear look bob on.

just one question, whats the company called?
