I only bought a top fairing from him, they are very thin compared the the fibreglass one and feel almost flimsy in saying that you dont notice when on the bike because the way the fairings fit together stragnthens it, mine was solid black and the finish is alright no obvious defects or any runs etc, the service was also really good!

Re: opinions please ?
Well the fairings arrived today and after a very quick inspection I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised and very happy with them for the price. They were wrapped well and the paint work quality is good. There are minor imperfections but none that would be noticable and a coat of polish will sort the fine scratches on one side panel. For £300 my opinion is these are worth every penny. My old man is a paint sprayer and he was to be painting the new fairing. I was quoted £300 from MOTOCC for a full unpainted fairing with Skidmarx coming in at £340 all without screens
There is no doubt they are thinner than OE stuff but as was pointed out earlier in the thread the OE is now getting very brittle with UV exposure etc... The panels all seem to be a reasonable strength and the only critacism is I would've liked to have had the insides sprayed white as the aren't painted at all but I'm being fussy now! I was expecting the quality of a race fairing with an average paint job but what I think I have is probably 90% the quality of OE with a 95% qualkity paint job.
Obviuously time will tell re durability and I've yet to fit them but I expect this to be a headache anyway as the bike had been dropped a few times so I anitpate tweaking the odd mount here and there.
If you're thinking of buying a set from this seller then I would happily give him the thumbs up on first inspection..

A point worthy of note is I did state I was a fussy customer when buying and asked for the panels to be inspected for runs and scratches prior to dispatch and it appears this may have worked too

Re: opinions please ?
they look good growler def better in your pics than in ad, the colours look a good match to the original scheme
as you say will probably need a bit of jiggery pokery in fitting but fitting oe stuff does anyway on an old bike . does the tail section have the locating dowels on it that locate into the rubber mounts on the subframe and also how strong looking are top mounts for fitting the lowers ? dave.

Re: opinions please ?
Yeah the colours are certainly better than their pics. To answer your question the tail unit has no locating dowels, The top mounts look OK? if its the one I thinking you mean it appears to be plastic welded on to the main body and not part of main body. Post a pic of the bit you mean and I can confirm this tho... Probably be next week til I get round to fitting but will let you see the finished article. Gonna have to pick up a cheap second hand track fairing now as these are too good to risk on track!they look good growler def better in your pics than in ad, the colours look a good match to the original scheme as you say will probably need a bit of jiggery pokery in fitting but fitting oe stuff does anyway on an old bike . does the tail section have the locating dowels on it that locate into the rubber mounts on the subframe and also how strong looking are top mounts for fitting the lowers ? dave

Re: opinions please ?
thanks growler, took the plunge and bought a set last thursday he said 8 days manufacturing time then 5-6 delivery fingers crossed they are as good as the set you got , messaged seller like you did saying to check for paint runs etc prior to despatching and he messaged back" i send you unpainted white set with white screen " nearly choked on me tea , think he misunderstood me, but got it confirmed today same as ebay ad r/w/b with clear screen phew ! re- the subrame dowels for the tail unit hopefully the six mounting points should be suffitient or may have to make a plastex set up using old panel as a mould or cut lugs of a scrap panel and plastex them on . maybe paint insides white with some hycote plastic paint once i get them fitted up and all lined up ok. cheers .

Yeah the guys english wasn't great but a fair bit better than my Chinese! Not fitted these yet as planning on taking to the track in the next coiuple of weeks and dont want to risk the plastics. Managed to pick up a race fairing lowere on fleabay at the weekend... The new panels will be a winter project in time for a fresh MOT in the spring I think... Let me know your thoughts on the fairing when it arrives and any issues with fitting

Re: opinions please ?
growler , fairings arrived had a good look over them and there as you said almost there , paintwork really glossy with a few minor blemishes barely noticable and they are a bit more substantial than i thought they would be, in truth probably about the same thickness as the plastics on my cb13 and probably some other modern bikes . reckon it will require a bit of patience and calm pills getting them fitted tried mid against lowers and holes slightly out of alignment but reckon they are well worth money for what they are . after all a similar standard of paintjob and decals on old brittle plastics would probably cost more in time and money so happy with what i got

Re: opinions please ?
I reckon they are really good value for money. Paint looks decent and they seem to get pretty good feedback too.
My paint job alone without the decals on the original fairing will cost more than this, so thumbs up there.
Even if they need a bit of fettling theyre still great value. Let us have some pics when its all rebuilt
