It wasn't a pilot jet - it was all down to the main jets. The original jets had been replaced with Dynojet ones and they were 120s on the front 2 cyls and 122s on the rear two - way too much as it was definitely causing the bike to overfuel. I've also since found out that Dynojet sizes are larger than the standard jet sizes, i.e. a Dynojet 120 is larger than a standard 120 so that didn't help either. I reckon the person who owned it before me bought an exhaust and assumed that he had to get the carbs majorly tweaked and just got massive jets which weren't need at all. It's now got smaller jets in (116 fronts and 118s in the rear two) and it is running much better, but i haven't ridden it yet so time will tell whether the carbs all need to come apart again - I hope not!

Good work.

Hopefully it has improved the issue. Until you ride it you won't be able to tell. Somehow I think you'll still have some issues...

Do you have the rubber shield fitted in front of the carbs?
