The port is called a DB9 (RS232) Serial port.

Most older laptops will come with one as standard.. you can get USB -> RS232 convertors cheap now for newer laptops but sometimes they dont' work too well.

Toughbook

I managed to pick up one of these 'toughbooks' for £50. Strong as nails and has a serial port right in there.. use it for all kindsa things that need the RS232 :)

Cable sorted thanks to a mate that works in a local PC parts store. Had a look at the map on the bike and its the HRC +3 map. At 4,000rpm the bike just pulls and pulls and pulls. If I didn't have those fancy radiators and a 120/70 tyre to hit them, I'd be tempted to dip the clutch

Must say, my first impressions weren't great, but the more I ride the bike, the better it feels for it.

they really need calibrating against a strobe light and then tweaking to suit each application.. once setup they're great.. I gained 1.3 bhp compared to the stock cdi on my zxr, and it feels better everywhere + the higher rev limit, and losing the 180kph restriction

im getting a 4 channel one and swapping to stick coils when my bike goes back together.
