Update:
I've got the NC30 fork bottoms (just so I can have the callipers), racetech springs with ally spacers and pre-load adjusters off an NC29. As I have said I initially wanted to put some RVF pistons in because they give better compression. But they went up in price from £48 to £98 per piston (brand new). So, spending £400 when I could get a decent second hand engine for less than half seems silly. I just bought the new Tyga kit which looks sweet but was really pricey. Also just bought a Beowulf exhaust today. Heard good things and thought it would be good to support a British firm. Oh, bought a gold x-ring chain and hardened renthal sprockets. Then just gonna get little bits like braided hoses, new filters, new grips and crash bungs (that sort of stuff).

Anyway, as far as things go. The carb's been stripped and cleaned, changed the clutch (found out my pressure plate was broken!). Forks are half way through. I havn't even found a rear shock yet. Then it'll be a case of putting things back together.

I'm on a bit of a budget as I'm a student so I'll be spraying it myself. I have gold wheels so i was thinking black with a gold type racing stripe through the center over the tank and seat. Like on some of the Ducati Monsters. Wish I could get the frame and wheels powder coated and get a professional paint job. I did a fairly good job on my first bike though. One thing that does need doing is the downpipes. I'm running standard downpipe's which have gone abit rusty. It'll be no problem getting the rust off but I was thinking to keep a nice shiney polished surface. Thing is, it would just rust again. So does anyone know if there is such a thing as high temp lacquer or the like? Just to stop the rust.

Photo's soon.

Actually yeah. I think I may. Because eventually I do want to put RVF pistons in, get it flowed and put lighter cams in. Just squeeze what I can out of it. But I also want to be able to rebuild a completely standard bike. So a second engine could be the answer. What's the mileage and condition and whatever other stuff I should know about. Never bought an engine before. And for how much?

A wheel people... Goes round and round.

Fork tops with preload adjusters, moved them back down today.

Rusty downpipes.

Little less rusty downpipes.

Even less rusty downpipes.

Anyway, Tyga kit was last tracked in England at an international hub. YUSS! Need to get these callipers fitted but having some problems. I did a stupid thing with the carb, it's all fitted but there are two relatively thin hoses and I can't for the life of me remember where they go. There doesn't seem to be anywhere for them. HELP! Found a rear shock, the guy's gonna send some pics. Does anyone have NC23 rearsets?

Are this forks from NC23\NC30 ? And did you move clip-ons under the top yoke ?

Parius.
Sliders, damper rods, bushes and spacers are from a 23. Preload adjusters from a 29 and fork bottoms from a 30. By clip on's you mean the handle bars right?

Everyone.
When I refitted the clutch I found I couldn't change gear. It looks like the push rod (I think it's called (the thing that turns when you twist the gear selector thingy from the other side, moves in and out perpendicular to the bike too), not too sure) needs locating in a certain position. There are two holes drilled out and the first has a spring around it (this is difficult to explain, I'll get a picture soon). I put the springed hole onto this pin looking thing so that it can shift a cam looking thing.

Please help people. With the carb thing I wrote about before aswell.

Thanks. One bit of stress over. I hope.

But do they need to be located in a certain direction or does it not matter at all?

These are the pics of my clutch and what problems I'm having. I have no idea, don't want to do it wrong. Hope someone can help.
