Billy has it spot on - the NC30 is a class act. The NC29 is a good motor too..but lacks, for me, something special that you have with the breeding of the VFR.

It is horses for courses really though..LP is a hsort arse so she wanted a small bike...and left her '30 outside and seized the brakes on. ( was it that one missus?) It was also a scabby one compared to her well loved 29..with neons and purple bolts!

Only kidding LP - I know you know your shit..and are a top NC29 advocate.

Having ridden my fzr and nc30 back to back vfr every time .....................

it was weird, left the NC30 out side as back then i had no shed to park bikes in... it was under cover for 2-3 days.. went out to ride it and couldent move it!
the compound metal in the NC30 brake disks rust quickly and it seizes the pads to the disks. All you have to do is rock the bike until the seize is "broken" then your fine.
The "other" quirk i remember it having was getting it back into neutral after a ride. it was a bugger, you had to rev up slightly and go for 1st at the same time. once you had the knack it was fine.

The discs are exactly the same mate, you will probably find it was the pads.

nah, apparently it was the disks. made of slightly different/less? compounds than NC29 ones.
Pads were the same as what i have on the NC29. HH

rustier discs are normally "better" for the actual braking service they provide.

The std rotors for the bikes are the same though..

I guess the crack is not to leave a bike outside if you can help it..but seizing the pads on is harsh!

Saying that, my EBC HH pads stick to my Stealth wavy rotors after a few days and need a little crack to make them let go!

at the time i had no other choice. even now all i have is a big metal shed that gets ice in the roof panels. if i insulated it id still get damn in.
