i dont think its the vaccum type, theres no breater going to the tap itself, an i can see the fuel filter filling up when i turn it on.


ive got a feeling that its killing plugs.... the plugs were black when i pulled them out, i had a look at the old set that came with the bike which were also black,,, the guy i bought it off also said that hed had the carbs stripped and re built so maybe the needles were set to high...?

i spoke to a mechanic up the road from me, he said that because i was cranking it over so much when the coil went, the plugs got covered in soot. he said try burning it off on the stove, if that doesn't work then buy new plugs..

half an hour spent cooking plugs later, bike started up first push of the button.

the guy said that all the smaller import bikes have this problem due to the plugs being so small, takes them no time to get clogged up if theres no spark, or flooding etc.

so basically because the coil went, the bike wouldnt have started anyway. but because the petrol tank had just been put back on i was thinking i would need to wait for the fuel to go through the lines.. which seems kinda stupid now

oh yeah the mech also said that i should run my bike on the high octane fuel, becuase of it being an import and the quality of our fuel is worse than the quality of japanise fuel, it wont run properly on normal 'superstore' fuel.

You mean holding the electrode end in the gas flame of the stove and literally burn the carbon off/out??
