SETTING UP THE CAM TIMING AFTER REPLACING HEAD GASKET???
Hi all,Please could someone help,i have just replaced the headgasket on my NC31 1996 VersionR.The problem is i got a CD from Flee-bay which has the Workshop manual on but this has proved hopless with regards to re building as i can't sort out the correct way to set the cam timing up.As far as i can tell i should get Number 1 piston on TDC and then line up the cam shafts to the 10 and 2 positions so that the marks on the centre wheels are in line with the top of the cylinder head, having set the timing mark up in the spy whole. This i have done but having rebuilt the whole bike up and tried to start her she just spins over and after around 10 revs she will backfire. How can i make sure that the TDC is not 180 out as this manual seems to be less than useless.Sorry to be dim !

Are you sure the cylinder you are using as number one is the correct cylinder and not number four.
