Honestly i'm not expecting much more from the next crank. Just a minor improvement in response with the flatties on it and tuned up better than they are now.

As for friday, I probably won't get to the track in time, but if we do arrive and unpack in time, you can take mine out for a few laps and tell me how it compares. Just not sure when we get there. I'll be riding Morgan Park on race day for the first time ever. Looks like fun!

In defence of Terry, they have blown a lot of engines learning how to build them from scratch and how far they can push components. He has taken the destructive route to achieving reliability. While I was in the workshop I saw one of their early cranks they rode to destruction and he doesn't go as far with them anymore. Expect two fast and reliable machines next year, actually make that 3, hopefully one of them is my CBR!

Greg what's Terry gonna sting ya for the crank work? Just interested cause it looks like i'll be on a 29 soon.

Regarding Casso's 2's round Broady,it was a little unbelievable, though 4's are still pretty impressive for the old fella, regardless of what he's riding... there may be hope for this old fella after all! ;)

with the 400's now, there is modified and stock class...stock meaning stock apart from suspension mods and an exhaust system...which is its own championship for people who dont want to spend the money trying to compete with 80hp granades.
casso doing 4's round broady is sad considering the bike he's on...which isnt a 400
im doing 4's on a cbrnc23 with a stock airbox and stock exhaust system.
1.47.0 with an addition of a ram airbox round the island.... it would have done high 1.46 round there if there hadnt been rust in the head stem bearings causing the thing to shake all over the place(which is now sorted)
so,what you want to spend is up to you,
i like the fact of being able to do those times against people like casso on rockets on shorter tracks and go faster than them on hi speed tracks much more than having a rocket and not being able to ride it in general
....maybe mentally ive got bigger balls...mentally not physicly...who knows...but thats just me.
im currently building a stock nc29 for summin different and am going to race that.
see you out there

Yeah mate,i knew about the stock and modified classes,i just didn't realise the Orange bikes and the Fox bikes were actually producing a real 80hp at the rear wheell these days! I shouldn't really be surprised cause his bike made 72 on Ken's dyno at the dyno day before the 08 season!

I guess what impressed me more so about Casso's times was the fact that he's well into his 50's.Everyone knows what his bike is capable of with a decent rider on it,just look at Tozer.

Yeah i know what you mean about being able to do those times on bikes that are a long way off the developement of the Casso bikes,i was beating him at every round and lapping faster on an RVF that made about 20 hp less than his,it's a nice feeling! I almost had Wayne on the 3rd orange ZXR at the last interclub in 08 but ran out of rear tyre.

This time round i'm going to have a go on an NC29,it's Shane McKenzie's bike.I want to try an in line 4 now after the V4,just for a change, and i've always liked the CBR,i nearly baught one before i got the RVF.I really don't want to spend up and go all out just to build a hand grenade and have it go pop! I'm happy to have a reasonably competetive and reliable bike that i can put fuel in and race without stressing about whether i will finish the race or end up on my arse!

Will you still be racing the 23 along with the 29 or just the 29?

Anyhow, all i know is i've been away from the race track for way too long (last November) and i'm looking forward to getting back out there and mixing it up with you fella's.

nice score with shanes bike...very well sorted and presented machine
i still laugh at kens dyno day that year where the 1 time i dyno the bike it makes an impressive 49hp....you must remember the bike now...matt black...BIG DENT IN THE TANK...what a machine!
will proberly just be on the 29 for next year...the 23 will be modern art in my lounge...i'll never sell it,it has alot of bits added to it now....but not enuff to race and be competitive in the modified class...
see you out there
