It has gone...

Post by rojer386 »

I have sold my NC29. What a great little bike to start off my biking career on. I found it to be so forgiving when I may have ''overcooked'' a bend or made a wrong move. It has gone on to another biking nut in County Cork who I know will look after it. I never got round to posting pics of it so check out the link to get a peek:

http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/989733.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Now the dilemma begins, what do I replace it with? It will be sports 600 of some sort (GSXR, R6, CBR 600 etc). I won't be rushing in as I have 4 months to decide whilst working down on the Falkland Islands (no bikes there unfortunately)

So from experience, what do you guys think about my choices?

Thanks,

Bri

Hi Bri,

Its a shame youve sold the 400, they are great bikes. I trust you are sticking around on the forum?

For the next bike, it pretty much depends on what riding you are doing. If you are going to be doing trackdays and the like and fast road stuff then the gixxer or the R6 would be the better choices. If its more long distance stuff, touring and the like then the CBR (not RR) would be better. theres a whole host of bikes to choose from, taking a few for test rides is a good plan as well, you might find you really like the look of something but dont get on with it.
Too many bikes, so little time!

I meant to say thanks to all those that helped with my few bike probs that I had (LP, top guy and you sure know your stuff)

I will be hanging around as I do think I will have another 400 again one day as a second bike or when I get my wife to pass her test.

Match, I did all sorts of riding, long distance and fast road. I found that after a long run (500+ miles) the only bit that was sore was my arse, lol. As for trackdays, prob not. Can't afford to throw a bike up the road.

i went for a 98 ZX6 after my 400, but i am glad i did not sell the 400, just retired it to county lanes in rural ireland.
the 600 is a far more substantial bike, but being more substantial needs a bit of maneuvering to get the most out of it. it is more comfortable with a DB screen and can maintain high speeds much better.
