MOT

Post by ourkidkurt407 »

My bike needs a MOT next month it will fly through as i have just had it serviced but it has a small number plate and an real old art exhaust can with no stamp on it, its not loud.

Will it pass or does it depend on the tester? or do i have to change these bits for the test?

How small is the plate?

The NC has a small plate anyways 7*5 I think and as long as the text is large and clear and not ful of stupid slogans it should be OK. The can is a discretionary thing - if it does not have any markings then that is OK. If it said "for race use" or "not for road use" then you would fail.

Should be alright mate... ;)

I am pretty sure it is 7x5 for the standard NC plate? It is pretty small..

ONly cosst a few quid to get a plate made on ebay in enormous size if you need one..

I use a 9x7 size which is huge...but I don't care!

as above can is at testers discretion.
ive got a yamamoto half system on mine which is fairly loud.
when i started it up at the test center the guy actually liked the sound and encouraged a bit of revving lol.

i managed to find the one MOT garage in my area owned by a guy who rides an NC30 8-)

My number plate has normal size letters but has been trimmed round the edges to make it less large. It's been like that for 7 years now and has always passed. My end can is a straight through Micron one and that too always gets through the MOT.

dont know about plates but as for exhaust its up the tester 2 days after i passed my mot i took it to a garage to sort out the exhaust leak and instantly they ask if it had a mot and if it where him he would instantly fail it. needless to say i never went there again
