Potential ZXR400

Post by jackdim » Mon Mar 02, 2009 10:02 am

Hi all,

I have a chance to buy myself a zxr400 from a friend of a friend, bike has:

No tax or MOT
33,000 miles
J reg

Apparently motor runs sweet but she needs:

New Discs
Fork Seals

What would you value her at? (I assume she's an L4 model?)

Thanks,
Jack

I wouldnt go higher than 600 quid with the work that needs doing and no tax/mot. Fork seals are an absalute pig on the zxr too. What year is it and does it have any service history? Also looks like its not original paint scheme, suggesting its been down the road or dropped

:D

Haven't asked about service history and the paint scheme is definately not standard for the year which is a J reg so that's around 1994-1995 irrc??

The main thing about it is having to do the fork seals..........it's my number 1 the worst job in the world

He asking less than £600 so it sounds alright :D, if I were to get it then I'd probably paint the wheels and mudguard black (or possibly silver/greyish or white wheels). It's also had a new rear tyre, chain, sprockets and battery so it looks like he's tried to put it through and an MOT; its failed and now he just wants rid.
