NC35 tire question

Post by JAFO » Fri Jun 14, 2019 11:31 am

Hello,
I live in Thailand and have a 96 NC35. Unfortunately went off to get a new set of tires and they do not import the factory size anymore. My options are the 120/70-17 and the 160/60-17. I would like to hear some feedback from anyone using the larger tires and problems encountered if any?

Thanks

I;ve only used them sizes on Supercorsa tyres and on trackdays - but they are fine. You might get a bit of mudguard rub but crack on, it'll do the job just right

You may want to consider the change in overall diameter of the 120/60 vs 120/70 and 150/60 vs 160/60 tyres as it may adversely affect the steering geometry.

Thanks for the response,

Yes it is one of the considerations I had to contend with. However the overall change when physically measured from the factory size versus the Pirelli Diablo Corsa Rosso II's tire is quite small (Pirelli seems to runner smaller). Michelin and Dunlops however are a much larger increase which could lead to interference and handling variance.

The challenge I have is that the stock size tires are no longer imported to the country I live so I am stuck with whats available.
