Gk73 sp engine identification?
Hello.
Does anyone know the best way to identify an sp engine on a gk73 gsxr? My friend has about 6 engines, one of which he thinks is an sp.
Thanks.
Col.

They are visually identical. The only way you can check is to pop off the rocker cover and check the cams and rockers/valve springs to positively identify.
But you need to know what you are looking for.

Also have shorter inlet but you would only be able to see this if the manifold is still attached.
SP only has a short rubber inlet and the non SP has an ally spacer between the rubberone and the head so lengthening the inlet, has a different air box to allow for this.
If you go back to the previous post it lists engine numbers for the SP.
