Re: Valve Clearance Guide
Thanks for the reply.
I now wish i had a big bag of shims!
to confirm ref 2 - are we all as happy as we can be i havent trashed anything. The other post seemed to imply it was the end of the world as we know it.
Thanks
Adam

Re: Valve Clearance Guide
It's taken me 15 years to get these shims.. :)
I reckon you'll be fine - the turning it over and the finger getting a bit stuck on the collet is not great, but I cannot see if breaking anything.
get it back and measured up and see what goes on for your gaps.
If you find you need some specific sizes and are stuck - I'll swap some with you

Re: Valve Clearance Guide
Thanks - I did have a list of 5 shims I needed, but those are irrelevant now as I measured the wrong gap!
Re the turning the engine over - that was my thinking - shouldn't have done it, however nothing should really be damaged and all I need to do now, is put all 16 shims back in and start again

Re: Valve Clearance Guide
Started checking my clearances today, taking my time and taking a long time.
When replacing the shim, after measuring, I found that zip tying the cam follower to the opposite cam bearing tower held the follower out of the way, so I had two hands to reinstall the shim.
Just my 2c.
Regards,
Tony
