However fitting the hrc shock has been frustrating, no matter what I do I get play in the bottom mount. Aft much had scratching, chats with drunken munky and swearing I tried a spare linkage I had and problem solved. Ran out of time to finish fitting it but fingers crossed. So bike currently looks like this

Looks like a way to change the length of the shock, jacking the rear up.
Not seen it done that way before, maybe it was a 'cheat' to get around a rule?
Never heard of a series where you can't change the rear shock though

I’m thinking of it ran in the SS/sp class perhaps they weren’t allowed to change the rear shock??

So having rebuilt the front and rear calipers now was time to refit and bleed them, hence came the problems

The front and rear master cylinder pistons were stuck solid with brake fluid that had turned into a crusty crystal like mixture. I had a spare rear rebuild kit so that sorted the rear, was a pig to bleed too but eventually got there.

Didn’t have a rebuild kit for the front but luckily found a spare master in good nick so that went on, it’s still would bleed that’s when we noticed that one of the brake lines had cracked at the mounting point so a pair of NOS TTF3 brake lines went on (I know I’m a tart  ) and now all is well

This took most of the spare time I had yesterday so the only other thing we got done was to refit the carbs.

Just to change oil and put coolant in then try and fire her up for the first time since she was put into storage in Japan by the previous owner in the early 90s, wish me luck

Also got word on the original F3 rad repair, unfortunately they can’t get a core quote as curved as original but it will have to do, that should be done in a few weeks.

The decals for the new fairings I will get painted up arrived too, look good
