Michael,
Does Germany have a value added tax? Maybe if we order them from the USA, we can get that tax omitted.

Yes, price is include 19% Tax.
I think so, when you will buy some sets and they gu to the us you can buy without Tax.
Or i can try buy it over my company.

I know that German supplier does RC30 pistons and rings and a few people have used them without any issues.
There's a Chinese supplier of aftermarket engine internals with 56mm fzr400 rings and I just asked if they'll do 57mm ones. I think they're the same guys who did the CBR250RR pistons me and Mike just used. They seemed to be OK.

Mike,
Even if it is not to help me out with the engine, and you need or want to come over to Madrid for whatever, you are very much welcome. Got a spare car and gest room (if my mother in law is not visiting) . I have offered this before to some other fellow fórum members, but no one has shown up yet (and also some sqm of grass, for those who like to camp ...how I wish I could go to the Cadwell meeting )
I bought the pistons the year my first kid was born (gave him a ride on the nc this year, as birthday gift), so things have been moving at a different pace since.
Anyway, got a set of crankcases, heads, crankshaft, conrods, adjustable camshafts, uk or jap spec oil pump... plastigauge...well and another complete engine, just in case. Only missing new bearings, some other few miscellanea, and, of course, the balls to get those skinny liners bored out (correctly). So pretty much everything ready.
Regarding the ring sets, as Michael said, the price is for the 4, so sounds reasonable. Cheaper than the NOS Yamaha rings I bought.

do you want to test the rings from Germany? I can help to order a set.
The price, 199 € is for a complete engine, 4 cylinder.
I can ask for 10-15 sets what we have to pay. Price is with tax.
Michael
The rings are a huge wall for getting pistons for everyone who wants them, and to rebuild existing 428s & 450s. So, finding a source of rings is crucial right now. My fear is that Scheuerlein is just a reseller, not the actual manufacturer. So, could you please do the following for me (us):
1. See if Scheuerlein is the manufacturer, or just a reseller?
2. See if they can make more sets for us as required (a large batch now, and available to make more batches later as required over the next several years)?
3. What would the price be for large orders (5 engines, 10 engines, 15 engines, etc.)?
4. Will they sell/ship directly to me in the USA?
The answers to these questions could really help the entire pistons situation along.
The price of OEM piston rings, if they were available, would be less than $40/set (<$160/engine). And, I am sure I could get a break on that price.......IF THEY WERE AVAILABLE. So, if you can get the price to $150 USD (€132 Euros) per engine set, that would be very reasonable.
Cheers

Scheuerlein Is just a reseller I asked them that when I first found the site. They said they can only do Pistons in sizes std, +.25 & +.50 so I'm guessing they are Chinese Pistons same as you see on alibaba etc. what the quality would be like I've no idea

Re: Cosworth 56mm & 57mm NC29, NC30, NC35 Pistons for 2016
I have just successfully used the Chinese pistons in a CBR250RR (MC22) and.....so far....they work great. Only time will tell. Their piston were almost impossible to tell from the OEM Honda's pieces, until a few odd machining details popped up, like square circlip grooves. Their piston pins were the biggest hunks o'crap I have ever seen,JC120 wrote:I know that German supplier does RC30 pistons and rings and a few people have used them without any issues.

Does anyone have direct contact info for this "Chinese" supplier?
