Gk73 forks gsxr400
Hi all,
A friend of mine has a gsxr 400, the frame is a gk76 but it has right way up forks on it which we are assuming are off a 73, anyway the inner tubes are bent and pitted and in NZ parts are immposible to get.
Does anyone know of any around or a breaker in England that might even be worth a try?
Thanks a lot
Neil

Re: Gk73 forks gsxr400
Hi, can you be sure they are 73a forks, do they have any damping adjustment.
73a are 41mm this size is used by loads of bikes, bandit, RF etc, but all slightly different.
I would think its easier to swop out than import but if you are stuck and desperate I can help source you some from the UK.
PM me if you want me to get a price.

Awesome thank you for reply, They are 41mm by 580mm, can give you some more measurments tomorrow, will do the bottom bore size and the distance to the hole in side of tube, they have a cartridge style damper but a very basic one and is non adjustable, does the 73 have adjusters?Variablevalves suck wrote:Hi, can you be sure they are 73a forks, do they have any damping adjustment.

We are stuck and desperate so any help would be great, have looked through Wemoto's listings and there is only one listing
in that size which is gsxr750g. But I have one here and correct overall but different.
Cheers

Re: Gk73 forks gsxr400
The non sp only have the preload.
Ive a clean set somewhere that if I remember have very good chrome.
Be warned posting anything out of the UK is expensive though.

Cool yes these just have the preload.
We have ruled out RF400 tonight as we went to look at some and they are different.
I have some measurements of the forks for you and I can post some pictures also if that would help.
Measurment from the fork cap to centre of axle hole is 730mm
Caliper bolts are 10mm and spacing is 90mm centre to cente. Calipers are the black Tocikos with the different sized pistons top and bottom.
Axle sliding surface is 22mm and thread is 16mm.
It would be awesome if you could dig yours out and let me know, and will be super keen if they are correct and you can be bothered posting.
Thanks a lot.
