Jetted, but need to go back to stock exhaust...

Post by Goinphaster »

Looking to take my RVF to it's first track day (not mine though), and the track I have chosen has a VERY strict noise limit requiring the stock exhaust. Currently I am running 112's all around with a washer under the needles, and a Yamamoto Half system- no other mods. Will downgrading my exhaust to stock cause problems like: poor running, fouling plugs, too rich? Thanks in advance!

P.S. the track is Laguna Seca.........

it may,you might find a flat spot in and around 6-7000rpm mark but it will not be anything major.

I. Did a similar thing and swoped over my 110+db twin stack for a stock exhaust. Bike ran like a turd. But I might just have got used to the stacks performance. It's back on now and no problems so far. Fingers crossed it's not too bad for it as may have to do it again in future.

Just put it back to standard. Remove the exta washer, re-fit the standard jets and go enjoy yourself. No point in getting there and not have a running bike to enjoy it on.

PS, fit an on-board camera if you can ;)

Yes I think the Camera's a must.

If it's just a case of swapping the end-can (which shouldnt' take long) i'd give it a try, I don't think 112's are rich enough to give it major problems, i'd leave the washer in at first as it usually cures the mid-range 'flatspot'

The entire Yamamoto exhaust will be removed and the original exhaust will be refit. Laguna Seca has 93 decibel sound limit strictly enforced :Rulez: Seems a bunch of rich people decided to splurge on really expensive houses, but didn't leave any money to buy common sense- hence building a home right on top of a RACE TRACK!!! :Soap: about as smart as building a house next to an airport..... oh wait, they do that too.......

So completely stock exhaust, with 112's all around- good to go? The only thing good about the stock exhaust is it will allow the camera to pick up the glorious gear whine.......

93dB? Facking hell, that's strict. Even a std bike with an aftermarket road legal exhaust would probably struggle.
