XJR400 Rear Brake Caliper
Was trying to change the fluid and bleed the brakes on my XJR - front went fine then tackled the rear . . . thought one of the bleed nipples was un-doing and then snap!!! Bust right off flush with the housing .
I can still use the bike as the brake works ok - but does anyone know if the same caliper is used on another Yammy? I've checked on ebay but can't see one that looks the same. I do know when I had my UK FZR400RR 4DX it had the exact same caliper - but that is different to my 3TJ's strangely enough??!!
The MOT is due in May so not sure if it would pass with a busted nipple - but I'd sooner get it done anyway if anyone has any ideas please?
I thought about drilling it out but that will probably knacker the thread in the caliper.

Re: XJR400 Rear Brake Caliper
You have it spark eroded - it should take out the nipple while leaving the caliper intact, it's a specialist thing though so can't be done while you wait.
Drilling isn't a good idea if you go to deep you ruin the seat. Maybe an easy out would do the trick ?

You can get a brake hose bolt which has a bleed nipple in it if you cant find anything in time for the MOT.

Rear caliper: the same as FZS600 (model year until 2004. two pistons caliper, 95mm hole to hole distance)
Maybe this could help, its the same as a Fazer apparently according to the common parts post
