What did you do with your NC23/29 today?

Post by The Novice »

Seems the only thing going on is with the V4's on here.

So here goes.

After getting the NC23 MOT/Tax and renewing the insurance a few weeks ago I decided it was time to lift the piles of crap off her and take her out.

Push her outside, hit the starter, click.........then nothing.

Anyone know where I can find a 'how to' on using an electrical tester!? I have one, unopened, but have no idea how to use it.

Looks like I may need a battery! Have stuck the charger on it to see if it can hold any charge in the meantime.

Well went to work and back as usual. Normally takes half hour ride but they have put me 5 mins from home the last few weeks. So now it takes me longer to get ready and get the bike out than the actual ride is.

But yesterday as my choke seemed to be going to be used as the colder weather sets in i thought i would renew the cable as it was a bit stiff. Joy of joys its now very slinky smooth. A first.

Yeaterday I fitted an ex. Tanuki Tyga front fairing and a GF single seat to my race nc29 :)

Did some locking wire on the sump plug and oil filter.

Next will be to sort some kind of steering stop (too much lock now), lock wire brakes, change head race bearings, close the lower fairng, install a R6 shock, sort oil/gas catch tank. Maybe balance carbs :)

Not today, but yesterday, I gave my NC29 a damn good wash. While it was drying, I washed the kitchen floor. I then made a makeshift ramp and wheeled it into the kitchen. It is now parked up next to the radiator keeping warm, where it will stay for the winter, same as last year!

My wife said I could bring it in, as long as I washed the floor - fair deal! Last year I put a cover on it while it was inside, but she made me take it off, saying she preferred to see it! We even put some tinsel and baubles on it for Christmas! Damn I love my wife!

After a couple of months of the Cbr being hooked up on the optimate I uncovered the bike, dug out the key for it and tested to see if it would turnover. Nothing at all, no clicking, no lights, nothing. Oh well, looks like I will actually have to take a look at the bike some day. Have fallen a little out of love with it these days, I don't get time to ride it and whenever I do get time I intend to take the Crm out green laning or something.

I am neglecting the nc23 and I feel ashamed.
