Fzr400rr indicator problem

Post by ibby4585 »

I've got a problem with my indicators on my SP.

When I turn the ignition on the indicator light on the panel lights up continuously. If I turn the left indicators on the indicators work and the panel light flashes opposing the indicators. If I turn the right indicators on they work but the panel light doesn't work at all!

I've had all the wiring on each indicators every way round possible but no change. I've narrowed it down to when the rear right indicator is plugged in the instrument panel lights up.

The relay plug is oem and can't plugged in the wrong way.

Could it be a faulty relay?

Anyone encountered this type of thing?

At a guess it sounds like a bad earth somewhere. You could also try unplugging the handlebar switch and see what happens to the panel light.

If its a bad earth it's going to be a strip the loom job! Really don't want to be doing that.

I'm guessing if I unplug the l/h switchgear and the instrument panel still illuminates its faulty wiring/earth ?
