Rick Oliver sells o-rings very cheaply for use as nc30 float bowl gaskets, they work well and are much cheaper than genuine parts. Same fitment as nc24 carbs.

Rick's stock list and contact details are here: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=26174

Hi cammo, just ordered some from Rick. But after further investigation i appear to have a bit more of a problem, the fuel tap has been letting fuel through in the off position and the float valve on one of the carbs wasn`t sealing. So i now have fuel filling one cylinder and no doubt in the oil as well... :x ...
Is there a repair kit avalible for the nc24 fuel tap or is it a case of buying a new one,any help appreciated..Steve

Dont think you will buy a new fuel tap for the NC24 anymore been discontiniued a ong time, secondhand one perhaps but no offer its anybetter than the one you have now.

No idea if an NC30 diaphram kit will fit the NC24 tap, but you can get a repair fit for the NC30 tap.

If you put the fuel tap to OFF does fuel still flow? If it does then sounds like the tap is knackered...

Hi,yes the tap still runs slightly when off,it dosen`t run on the vacume pipe it just free flows when turned on.Was like this when i bought the bike,i have always turned it off when not running...Would a NC30 fuel tap repair kit work?

You can seemingly get a diaphragm kit for the NC24:

http://www.nrp-carbs.co.uk/shop/index.p ... duct_id=65

However if it's running by when turned off the issue is not going to be, or at least not confined to, the diaphragm. That's there to shut the fuel off if the tap is running by as a safety feature. So it stands to reason that both the tap seal and the diaphragm are shot. Changing the latter might stop the fuel from getting to the carbs, but the tap will still be leaking up to it. I don't think it's possible to do much with the taps other than sort the diaphragms, so you'd probably be best off looking for a non leaking tap...

The tap has been modified to run without the vacume pipe,i`m not realy sure how this is done..would i be correct in saying that the diaphram is disabled in some way? so if i were to put the diaphram back to it`s original position and put a vacume pipe back on the engine could i leave the fuel tap on and not have fuel free flowing to the carbs?

From memory you need to pull some parts out, as well as turn the diaphram around. So unless you have those parts to put back in you can't revert it back to vacuum operation.

There's a guide on how to modify the nc30 tap here (same principle would apply to nc24): http://www.akhara.com/nc30/fueltapmod/index.html

Probably easiest to stick a wanted ad for another tap in the classifieds.

Yes i think that`s best, although there don`t seem to be any avalible, tried ebay nothing on there...the tap has the two parts of diaphram just appears to be missing the spring.
